Trendy, culturally rich, and high-tech influences are seen in the design of this suburban bank where Fibergrate created a unique sunscreen application blending the functionality with a modern, industrial element.
Problem
The goal of this project was to create a sunscreen to filter the harsh Texas sun and provide shade during the long summer months. The look for the sunscreen was to be high-tech and industrial. Stainless steel was ruled out due to its heavy weight, high price, and intense maintenance requirements.
Solution
Fibergrate® utilized 4’x12’ panels of 2” deep FGI-AM molded grating in gray to create a sunshade.
The gray color gives the appearance of stainless steel and filtered the harsh sun radiation to provide shade during long summer months. The material’s light weight and ability to cut to size onsite made fabrication and installation of the project very easy. Fibergrate resins are specially formulated to provide superior corrosion resistance, so the grating will remain durable for years to come. The FRP products are highly affordable and have low maintenance costs in comparison to traditional materials.
